SpaceX will no longer show rocket launches on YouTube

Broadcasts move to the social network X

The social network X, owned by Elon Musk for almost a year now, will broadcast SpaceX rocket launches. The aerospace company will no longer broadcast launches on YouTube.

The decision of SpaceX, which is also owned by Musk, is related to the American billionaire’s desire to turn the X social network into a Twitch and YouTube-level platform where users can watch full-fledged live broadcasts.

A few days ago, SpaceX sent another batch of Starlink satellites into space. The broadcast was shown only on the social network X. An almost identical situation occurred during the return of Dragon with the crew of the Crew-6 mission. SpaceX showed on YouTube the moment the ship undocked from the ISS, and the continuation of the broadcast could be viewed on the X social network.

User dissatisfaction is largely due to the fact that X does not yet have the same user-friendly interface for watching videos as YouTube. YouTube is also available as an app for TVs.

At the moment, the problem is solved simply. There are other channels on YouTube that broadcast SpaceX rocket launches. For example, Spaceflightnow.com and NASASpaceflight.
