Ukrainian Armed Forces advance near Opytne and approach Donetsk airport – DeepStateMap
According to Yuriy Mysyagin, Deputy Head of the National Security Committee of the Rada, the advance was made possible by coordinated assault actions of the 59th Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
During the counteroffensive, the Ukrainian armed forces managed to advance near the Donetsk airport. We are talking about the village of Opytne. This was announced by Yuriy Mysyagin, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, on his Telegram channel on September 8.
In his publication, he refers to the DeepStateMap map. On September 6, the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the area of Opytne remained unchanged, but the next day the map changed.
“Near the village of Opytne, in the area of the Donetsk airport, units of the 59th Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as a result of coordinated assault actions, cleared the positions of the occupiers, advanced, gained a foothold and returned part of its territory to Ukraine’s control,” the statement said.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not officially comment on this information at the time of publication.
Donetsk airport, as you can see on the map, has been under occupation for many years, and the village of Opytne is just a few kilometers away, across a field.
It is worth noting that the Ukrainian military continues its counteroffensive in the Donetsk region and is destroying enemy personnel and equipment. For example, on August 15, it was reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed Russian equipment near the Donetsk airport. The Defense Forces filmed the moment of liquidation of a Russian BMP-1 in the Avdiivka sector. The group stated that inflicting losses on the enemy is not something that can be tired.
On September 7, it was reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were successfully driving the enemy south of Bakhmut and had already liberated half of Klishchiyivka, Donetsk region, from occupation. Defense forces attack the positions of the Russian Armed Forces in the Bakhmut sector. In particular, attacks are taking place at five points at a distance of 5 to 13 kilometers from the settlement.
