France suspends iPhone 12 sales due to radiation risks
Sales of Apple’s iPhone 12 have been suspended in France, citing excessive electromagnetic radiation. In Belgium, they are also asking the telecommunications regulator to analyze the potential health risks associated with using the gadget.

The company intends to appeal the decision of the French authorities.
The French National Radio Frequency Agency has advised Apple that if they do not solve the problem of increased radiation exposure with a software update, they should recall every iPhone 12 (even those already sold in the country).
According to the French regulator, the device’s specific absorption rate (SAR) is 5.74 watts per kilogram, which is above the limit set by the European Union for a phone when held in a hand or pocket.
German network regulator BNetzA has said it may launch a similar review and is in close contact with the French authorities.
The Dutch authorities said they were looking into the matter and would ask the American company for an explanation.
The World Health Organization has previously tried to dispel fears about the radiation emitted by mobile phones, saying that there is no evidence that exposure to low-level electromagnetic fields is harmful to humans.
