Samsung abandons 10x optical zoom in Galaxy S24 Ultra

But this time, the company may abandon the technology that made it stand out from the crowd, the 10x optical zoom.

This meme comes from the incredible zooming abilities that the company’s flagships have been demonstrating for several years now. But everything may change in early 2024. At least that’s what an authoritative Ice Universe insider says.

For a long time, Samsung has been installing 10x optical zoom in its flagship phones. And while this feature may look like a gimmick, it’s definitely better than the digital zoom that most other companies offer. Therefore, the rumors that the company decided to remove the 10x optical zoom camera from the Galaxy S24 Ultra came as a very sad surprise.
This may not be a problem for many people, especially if they don’t use the 10x optical zoom. But many users were delighted with these features. Since its first appearance, the company has significantly improved the capabilities of its sensor and instead of doing so further, it can simply remove it.
The source claims that instead of a 10x optical zoom, we will get a 5x optical zoom in the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

It can be assumed that the insider wanted to correct his mistake by rushing the announcement, although in the first post he used the phrase “100% confirmed.” He did not comment on this.
According to previous leaks, Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will have 4 main camera modules: 200MP + 12MP + 50MP + 10MP. It will work with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 on Android 14 and One UI 6.
