For the first time since the beginning of the war, the Ukrainian Armed Forces hinted at the existence of the “Thunder-2” air defense system
ArmyFM journalists talked to the country’s chief rocket scientist Serhiy Baranov. During the interview, the brigadier general spoke about the current state of affairs with the Hrom-2 project.
The military did not go into details due to the secrecy regime. He only hinted that the work on improving the Grom-2 is in full swing. The occupiers will feel the effect of the missile system on themselves.
According to Defence Express journalists, Baranov’s hint indicates that progress in the development of the missile system is more significant than is commonly believed. It is known that as of June of this year, the readiness of the Hrom aircraft was estimated at 65-70%.
By the way, Russian troops began “intercepting” ballistic missiles launched from Grom-2 in March. In total, they “shot down” seven missiles during the month. In October, the Russian Defense Ministry began reporting interceptions of up to two missiles a day. No evidence of this was presented by the defense ministry.
