HBO has admitted that they are working on new Game of Thrones spinoffs, including a sequel about the legendary Jon Snow
HBO CEO Casey Bloys has admitted that they have many Game Of Thrones spinoffs in development, in addition to the already realized House of the Dragon. All shows are based on the works of George R. Р. George R.R. Martin.
After the overwhelming success of Game Of Thrones, HBO couldn’t leave Westeros untouched and, of course, started working on several more shows, including a Jon Snow spinoff.
However, of all the projects currently under development, only the series A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight, based on Martin’s Dunk and Egg novels, has been officially ordered by HBO. Filming will begin in the spring of 2024.
“We always have Game of Thrones scripts in development. We approved Dunk and Aiguille in the spring. I can’t say that there’s anything else in this world that’s close to being officially approved or anything like that, but we’re always working on different scripts and ideas.”
Of course, the sequel about Jon Snow is the most anticipated, as it involves the return of the Game Of Thrones cast, including Kit Harington as Snow. Other spinoffs of the original series in development include 10,000 Ships, which will tell the story of Princess Nymeria, and The Sea Snake, which tells the story of the legendary voyages of Corlys Velarion.
There is also information that “Flea Bottom” and “Bloodmoon” have been canceled, and one of the spinoffs dedicated to the Conquest of Aegon was announced only earlier this year, and it has not been confirmed yet.
One thing we can be sure of and look forward to is the release of the second season of House of the Dragon, which is scheduled for summer 2024.
