The messenger used even by Musk will become even more secretive
Signal messenger is testing a new feature that will make it even more secretive. This follows from a post published in the Signal community.
Messenger is positioned by its developers as the most secure messaging application. Signal emphasizes confidentiality. The messenger is used by Elon Musk. The businessman has repeatedly advised his followers in X to follow his example.
The new feature will allow Signal users to use nicknames instead of phone numbers. Thus, the number will not be visible even to your contacts. To transfer contact information, users will only need to send a link or a QR code.
Currently, the function of replacing phone numbers with nicknames is being tested by a limited number of users. They had to register new accounts. Testers can communicate only with the same testers. They do not have access to a wider audience of the messenger.
