Ukrainian naval drones completely destroy Russian Serna and Akula amphibious assault ships in Crimea (video)
Ukrainian defense forces destroy two Russian landing ships in Crimea. This was reported by the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
On the morning of November 10, 2023, information emerged about the defeat of two Russian ships of the 11770 Serna project. As it became known in the evening, the second amphibious assault ship was built as part of the 1176 Akula project.
During the follow-up survey, it was found that both vessels were completely destroyed and cannot be restored. The first to sink was the Project 1176 landing ship Akula. A little later, it was joined by the 11770 project vessel Serna.
1176 “Akula” is an old program under which several dozen amphibious ships were built. A large number of them have already been written off. Only the D-295 and D-106 boats remained in the Black Sea fleet.
11770 Serna is a newer project. Most of the ships were built in the 21st century. Ukrainian naval drones may have destroyed the D-144 landing boat, which was commissioned 15 years ago.
