The Ukrainian company Kvertus has created the MS Azimuth system, which can detect Russian UAVs within a radius of 15 km

Ukrainian manufacturer of anti-drone guns Kvertus has created a system for detecting unmanned aerial vehicles. It is called MS Azimuth.

In February 2023, the company launched an R&D project to create a system from scratch that can detect Russian drones within a 10 km radius. MS Azimuth has recently begun to undergo large-scale testing. This was announced by the company’s CEO Yaroslav Filimonov.

Technical parameters:

  • frequency range – 30-6000 MHz;
  • instantaneous frequency bandwidth of 200 MHz;
  • scanning speed – 200-400 GHz/s;
  • frequency resolution is 30.5 kHz;
  • the maximum radius is 15 km;
  • minimum direction finding time is 32 µs;
  • direction finding error – up to 8°;
  • the antenna gain is 6 dB.

The new Ukrainian-made system is capable of detecting drones using the radiation signals of onboard systems. The first MS Azimuth is expected to be delivered to the Ukrainian Defense Forces in late December 2023.
