A drone with a 40-mm grenade launcher was presented in Turkey

Turkish tech startup Asisguard in cooperation with Repkon Savunma Sistemleri has successfully integrated a 40mm RDS40-MGL grenade launcher into a Songar multicopter.

The Songar is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that can be equipped with small arms, including an assault rifle, machine gun or grenade launcher.

The drone weighs 25 kg, has a range of 16 km and a flight altitude of 2.8 km, and is equipped with a camera with day and night channels that transmit video in real time. The multicopter can be used for a variety of missions, including surveillance, attack and air support, thanks to its 200 rounds of 5.56×45mm ammunition.

The possibility of integrating a combat machine gun into an unmanned aerial vehicle opens up new prospects in the defense sector and can enhance the army’s capabilities in various scenarios, including the fight against terrorism and the implementation of various missions.
