A gold restaurant car and other Medvedchuk valuables were arrested in Ukraine

The luxurious “golden car” of oligarch Viktor Medvedchuk, suspected of treason, has been arrested. All property inside the car was also seized. Hundreds of paintings, luxury tableware and precious watches were also found in Medvedchuk’s house.

This was reported in the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine. The restaurant car was located on the territory of a mansion abandoned by Medvedchuk in Pushcha-Vodytsya. Total arrested:

  • 279 paintings;
  • 4 figurines;
  • 10 hours;
  • 5 cups;
  • 1 glass;
  • 1 tray;
  • 2 vases;
  • 1 decanter;
  • 2 stands;
  • 2 silver coasters;
  • 1 kettle;
  • 31 box with utensil elements;
  • railway car-restaurant with furniture, interior items and utensils.

The decision was made by the Lychakiv District Court of Lviv. On June 17, the judge granted the motion of Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova. The property was found during a search on June 7 in Medvedchuk’s house and land.

Earlier in Ukraine, 154 objects of movable and immovable property of the Medvedchuk family were arrested – People’s Deputy Viktor Medvedchuk and his wife Oksana Marchenko. In particular, it is 26 cars, 30 plots of land, 23 houses, 32 apartments, 17 parking spaces and a motor yacht. Also, during the search, law enforcement officers have already confiscated 467 thousand dollars and 87 thousand euros from Medvedchuk’s housekeeper.

On April 12, it became known that Viktor Medvedchuk, a People’s Deputy from the OPZH, had been detained. To this end, the Security Service of Ukraine conducted a special operation.

At the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Medvedchuk, who is suspected of treason, escaped from house arrest. On February 26, he was no longer at home.

After that, the Lychakiv District Court of Lviv on March 18 chose a measure of restraint for Medvedchuk. He was allowed to be taken into custody.
