A huge fire mushroom: a powerful explosion occurred in Tashkent (photos, video)

On the night of September 28, a massive explosion occurred in the capital of Uzbekistan near the Tashkent airport.

This was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan and local Telegram channels.

According to preliminary information, the explosion occurred near the customs warehouse of the Tashkent airport.

Local media reports that the blast wave was felt 30 kilometers from the epicenter. Residents of Tashkent report on social media about a strong fire and broken windows in houses near the airport.

At the same time, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan notes that the fire occurred in the Sergeevsky district of the capital. Rescuers say that the warehouse caught fire after being struck by lightning.

At about 05:00 local time, according to emergency responders, the fire was extinguished.

According to the BAZA channel, at least one teenager has been reported dead. A 17-year-old boy was sleeping by the window and a shard hit him in the neck, the website claims.

At least five children are also known to have been injured – they were cut by shrapnel. They are currently in the hospital.
