A large-scale rockfall occurred in the Alps, and train traffic between Italy and France was stopped (video)

Due to a large-scale rockfall in the Moraines Valley in the Alps, rail service between France and Italy was suspended.

On the evening of August 27, a landslide occurred, which led to the suspension of rail service between Chambéry and Turin. According to authorities, train traffic on this route is expected to be suspended until at least August 31. Local trains will also not run.

In addition, the Frejus tunnel was temporarily closed to vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tons. Authorities have provided alternative routes for heavy vehicles and buses, suggesting that they use the Mont Blanc tunnel or the A8 highway.
