A new record: a massive performance of the carol “There in Bakhmut” in Lviv region (video)

The event raised over three million hryvnias for specialized equipment for the Ukrainian military. More than a thousand people gathered to set the record.

A new record for mass caroling was set in Ukraine. This was reported by the Ukrainian Book of World Records.

On January 13, 2024, in the Strelkovo community of the Lviv region, nativity scenes sang the carol “There in Bakhmut.” They won in the “For the First Time” nomination, as the event was the largest performance of a Christmas carol in Ukraine and abroad with a Christmas star.

The main goal of the event was to raise funds for the 80th Brigade as part of the Christmas Birds festival. As a result, we managed to raise over three million hryvnias for specialized equipment for the Ukrainian military.

The event was initiated by Frs. Roman Hrom and Fr. Ivan Nestorovych Galyo.

It is reported that 1259 people took part in the event, 105 nativity scenes were formed, and 8 countries were recorded.

Hanna Krysiuk, Director General of the World Records Book, emphasized that such records are important in our time, as support for the military is extremely necessary.

The Ukrainian band Mary also performed at the festival.

It should be noted that the author of the words to the carol “There in Bakhmut” and the music to it is Oleh Vitvitsky.
