A photo appeared at the time of the fire of the largest plane in the world, Mriya

The moment of the beginning of the fire, which destroyed the largest aircraft in the world, An-225 Mriya, was captured on a photo. The picture was published by the Russian Telegram channel Razvedos.

The description of the photo indicates that it was taken on February 27, 2022. The author of the picture is not indicated, but most likely it was one of the Russian occupiers.

At the time of the large-scale Russian invasion, the An-225 was undergoing maintenance under cover at Gostomel Airport.

On the very first day of the invasion, the Russian military tried to seize this airfield near Kyiv and began active combat operations on its territory.

Only after the release of Gostomel, Ukrainian specialists were able to assess the extent of the destruction – the largest plane in the world was actually destroyed. The cockpit, the central section of the fuselage, part of the wing and several engines were completely burned.

Mriya’s condition is such that the plane cannot be restored. However, specialists of the Antonov state enterprise, which designed and built Mria, have already stated that it is possible to use parts from the destroyed plane to build a new Mria. Currently, 30% of components are available to create a new An-225.
