A rare Nissan sports car was put up for auction: Tom Cruise raced on it (video)
In the 80s, a young Tom Cruise tried his hand at auto racing. His car has survived to this day in good condition.
A rare 1984 Nissan 300ZX racing car has been auctioned off in the US by Bring a Trailer. At one time, the star actor Tom Cruise participated in the competition on this car. Details of the car were revealed on the website of the auction house.

This Nissan 300ZX was prepared for the SCCA Trans Am Championship in 1986 by Newman/Sharp Racing, owned by Hollywood actor Paul Newman and racer Bob Sharp. In total, only two such cars were built.
Racing belts and a safety cage appeared in the cabin
The pilots were Tom Cruise and Bob Sharp’s son, Scott. Interestingly, the actor was even able to finish fourth in his class twice in races.
The Nissan 300ZX is equipped with a seriously upgraded 3.0-liter V6 with a capacity of more than 200 hp. and a 5-speed manual gearbox. His suspension and brakes were modified. The sports car was ‘shod’ in racing 15-inch tires. Racing belts and a tubular safety frame appeared in the cabin, but at the same time, the radio was preserved.
