A schoolboy from Volyn designed a unique device for monitoring drones

A Ukrainian high school student designed a unique system for tracking drones. According to Lutsk Future, Maksym Shumakov is fond of physics and programming. He started working on the invention during his visits to the Small Academy of Sciences. As a student of the 10th grade, he made a unique device consisting of a video camera and sensors. After the beginning of the Russian invasion, the boy decided to take up drones.

The cost of an aircraft tracking system designed by a teenager is 30 USD. Shumakov took her to several national competitions. The student has not yet received a patent for his invention.

The device created by the young man tracks UAV movement routes. Shumakov’s development does not allow enemy EW means to knock the aircraft off course. That way, nothing prevents the drone from returning to the launch site. A special algorithm monitors possible threats in real time. The device remembers the drone’s route. As a result, it can return to the operator even in the absence of GPS and Wi-Fi.

The military has already taken an interest in the development of a talented Ukrainian schoolboy. They plan to use it to protect reconnaissance drones from Russian electronic warfare equipment.
