A Ukrainian company supplies Elon Musk’s SpaceX with batteries for Starlink

Ukrainian drone manufacturer DroneUA agreed with Elon Musk’s SpaceX to supply charging stations. Valery Yakovenko, co-founder of the company, told about this in the podcast “Pain of Ukrainian IT”.

“We discovered a new direction – energy independence. It’s the ability to store energy and use it when it’s needed,” he said.

The company’s new product is “big batteries”, “just like Musk’s”. In March, the company received a request from SpaceX, and now most Starlinks operating in Ukraine use DroneUA batteries.

“We were contacted through a connection with equipment suppliers,” says Valery.

According to its co-owner, the company acts as an integrator in the project. Because small charging stations consist of solar panels and actually energy storage.
