A very rare version of the Tor air defense system burned down in the Rashistov

The high-precision M982 Excalibur 'helped' to start the fire

Such SAMs were first spotted in Ukraine in December 2022

A video with footage of the ‘demilitarization’ of a rather rare anti-aircraft missile complex of the Russian occupation army, which was destroyed by fighters of the 406th artillery brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, appeared on the Internet. One of the ‘protagonists’ of this episode is the Russian 9A331MDT ‘Tor-M2DT’ air defense system, an ‘Arctic’ variant based on the DT-30PM tracked transporter chassis.

The footage shows that with the very first hit of the high-precision M982 Excalibur ammunition, our soldiers aimed at the Russian anti-aircraft missile system – then there were attempts to finish off the car – the shells fell close to the car and, it seems, damaged it with fragments, and also ‘demilitarized’ at least one occupier who was nearby SAM

The occupiers unsuccessfully tried to extinguish their SAM

This is the first time that the Armed Forces destroy this particular air defense system, and in general it is worth noting that, apparently, the Russian Federation threw these systems into Ukraine quite recently – for the first time, the ‘Arctic’ air defense systems ‘Tor-M2DT’ ‘lit up’ on the battlefield in mid-December 2022 .

The most pleasant thing at this moment is that such machines are quite rare among the occupiers – only the 80th motorized rifle brigade of the Northern Fleet of the Russian Navy has them in service, and as of 2020 it had only 12 such anti-aircraft missile systems.
