According to the technologies of the Russian Federation: China launches production of a new generation of nuclear submarines that are difficult to detect
China has begun construction of a new generation of nuclear-armed submarines that use Russian technology and are characterized by low noise and visibility.
Analysts and regional defense attaches say China is on track to commission its next-generation ballistic missile submarine by the end of the decade. At the same time, Chinese engineers managed to achieve a low noise level of the boat thanks to Russian technology.
It is noted that the new Chinese vessels will be much harder to monitor. According to analysts and military attachés based in Asia, this conclusion is verifiable.
“The Type 096 is going to be a nightmare. They’re going to be very, very difficult to detect,” said one of the researchers, Christopher Carlson, a retired submariner and naval technical intelligence analyst.
Discreet attempts to track Chinese nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines, known as SSBNs, are a major factor in the increased deployment and contingency planning of the U.S. Navy and other armed forces in the Indo-Pacific region. This initiative is expected to intensify when the Type 096 enters service.
It is noted that the new Chinese submarine will compete with modern Russian ships in terms of stealth and armament. According to analysts, the technological leap will have “profound” consequences for the United States and its allies in the Indo-Pacific region.
Earlier, a Chinese submarine sank in the Yellow Sea, killing 55 crew members.
