Russian BTS-4 and T-62 with volumetric anti-drone protection, so-called grills, are found on the front line (video)

The Russian military has begun installing additional volumetric protection against kamikaze drones on BTS-4 tractors and T-62 tanks.

This follows from a video posted on the Special Kherson Cat X-account.

The footage shows one BTS-4 tractor and five T-62 tanks. All tanks have so-called barbecues. One tank in the column received additional trapezoidal protection.

According to experts, the use of additional protection increases the weight of the tank, which puts a strain on the chassis and engine. It is likely that additional protection is installed only on tanks used as self-propelled artillery systems. There is no need for horizontal barrel guidance in such machines.

The BTS-4 tractor also received trapezoidal protection. It is not fully clear how he uses engineering equipment and a crane boom. It is possible that additional protection is installed only on the march.
