Adobe shows an electronic dress at New York Fashion Week (video)

Adobe, in collaboration with fashion designer Christian Cowan, presented the first-ever Adobe Primrose e-dress at the fall-winter 2024 collection show at New York Fashion Week, the company’s press service reports.

The Adobe Primrose dress was created with the help of Primrose Technologies.

It consists of flexible textile displays with sewn-in touch sensors that allow it to change its color between shades of gray and ivory.

I was immediately inspired by the potential of this technology, and I was particularly drawn to the idea of sustainability behind it, with the ability to create many variations of the same garment.

This technology has already been used on small pieces of fabric, for example, to create an electronic handbag.

The company used Adobe Illustrator vector graphics editor to create sketches of the dress patterns and computationally display the positions of the petals, and Adobe After Effects for the animated graphics.
