Almost 50% of electric car owners want to return to ICE cars

The international analytical agency J.D. Power, which often releases interesting research in the automotive industry and the automotive market, has published a new paper related to the electric vehicle segment.

One of the most interesting facts that came out of the survey was the unexpected figures showing that almost half of electric car owners are thinking about returning to cars with internal combustion engines.

According to a recent survey, the electric vehicles with the highest level of satisfaction from owners in the premium segment are: BMW i4 (800 points), Rivian R1T (789 points), Rivian R1S (778 points), Tesla Model 3 (756 points), Tesla Model Y (752 points), Volvo XC40 Recharge (719 points), Audi Q4 e-tron (680 points).

The best in the mass market are: Mini Cooper Electric (770 points), Ford Mustang Mach-E (764 points), Hyundai Ioniq 6 (759 points), Kia EV6 (739 points), Nissan Ariya (739 points), Chevrolet Bolt EUV (738 points), Chevrolet Bolt EV (733 points), Hyundai Ioniq 5 (727 points), Kia Niro EV (706 points), Ford F-150 Lighting (704 points), Subaru Solterra (691 points), VW ID.4 (677 points), Hyundai Kona EV (675 points) and Nissan Leaf (651 points).

But the most interesting thing about this study is related to something else. The lack of charging stations, as well as other problems related to the nuances of operating electric vehicles, has led 39% of respondents who bought their first electric car to plan to return to cars with a conventional internal combustion engine.

At the same time, 48% of respondents said that they would consider switching from electric cars to rechargeable hybrids during their next purchase.
