E-commerce company Arteza (included in the ranking of the fastest growing private American companies Inc. 5000, in the top 100 sellers of Amazon) decided to close the Minsk Binatomic division. The employees of the Belarusian office told about it.
The Minsk company employed 150+ people, now “about 20”. Binatomic is currently selling off equipment and furniture to clear the office by August. According to employees of the Belarusian Binatomic, layoffs began in April. Some departments were reduced partially, and some completely.
More than 10 people worked in our department, all of them were laid off. There was no official reduction. Employees were either dismissed by agreement of the parties, or their contracts were not renewed. But the care conditions were quite loyal. The director spoke personally with each employee and discussed the terms of dismissal based on the financial situation. As far as I know, everyone who agreed to be laid off under the agreement of the parties was paid compensation of at least two months’ salary, said one of the former employees of Binatomic.
According to another employee, several employees were offered to stay with relocation to any country. According to the interlocutor, there are about 20 people left to work in the Minsk office, they will also leave soon.
“Those who applied for consideration at “Lesta” immediately lost 2 zp from the compensation.”
Afterword – what staff think about how the WG is going.
Half of the office that the company rented in the Cascade Alpha business center has already been leased to other companies. Furniture is now sold out. By the beginning of August, Binatomic plans to completely vacate the office space.
Official management of Binatomic did not announce the reason for closing the office, employees said. According to one of them, “at the end of April, the American leadership decided to change the ‘strategy’, after which layoffs began in the Minsk office.” According to other employees, Arteza decided to leave Belarus due to falling sales.
