An automobile engine was built from Lego (video)

A replica of the engine weighs about 18 kg and reaches a length of 1220 mm. In 2023, the construction won the Best Mechanics award at Lego Brickworld Chicago.

The craftsman built a replica of a 7.4-liter Chevrolet V8 engine out of Lego bricks. The mechanisms are powered by an 8-bit Lazer 128 computer from the 1980s. The video was published on the TechnicallyEvan YouTube channel.

The engine was created in 2022 by craftsman Evan Koblenz. The man shared that the assembly process took several years, and during the coronavirus pandemic he had a lot of free time.

The construction consists of several thousand Lego pieces. The engine and transmission are about 1220 mm long.

The engine has a movable camshaft and pistons. Inside, there are light elements that simulate the ignition of a spark plug.

In 2022, the engine visited the Lego Brickworld Chicago exhibition. There, the creation was nominated for the Best Mechanics category.

A year later, the engine received a four-speed transmission with a clutch and reappeared at Brickworld Chicago. This time he won.
