Another blow to enemy intelligence, the GUR attacked the Russian horizon radar “Container” (video)

On April 17, Ukrainian drones attacked the 590th separate radio technical unit of the military unit 84680, located in the Russian city of Kovylkino, Mordovia.

As noted, the target of the UAV strike was the 29B6 “Container” over-the-horizon radar with a target detection range of about 3000 km and a detection height of more than 100 km. The distance from the Ukrainian border to the site of the attack is about 580 kilometers.

The 29B6 Container dual-coordinate horizon radar is part of the air and space attack reconnaissance and warning system. The first sample of the Container radar was built by the Russians in the town of Kovylkino in Mordovia in 2000-2002.

Local residents wrote in their messengers that the sounds of explosions were heard around 9 am. Videos are also posted online showing a column of smoke at the site of the Container radar after the drone hit.

The first attack on the radar in Kovylkino was reported on April 11. According to media reports, the building housing the command post was damaged in the attack.

According to the source, the consequences of the current attack are currently being clarified.

SBU hits Russian Army radar in Bryansk region

The SBU 13th Main Directorate of Counterintelligence struck a long-range radar station of the Russian occupation army in Bryansk region, which allowed Russian occupiers to control the sky over Ukraine up to 700 km away.

In particular, a $100 million radar station was hit by seven airplane-type kamikaze drones.

A source from the Security Service confirmed that the Nebo-U complex is no longer operational and “probably turned into a colander.”

Thanks to the damage to this radar, the enemy has fewer opportunities to detect air targets along Ukraine’s northern border. “The radar blindness of the Russians will help our troops conduct reconnaissance, launch drones and use army aviation in this area more efficiently,” the SBU noted.

At the same time, it is noted that this is the second “Nebo-U” system destroyed by the 13th Main Directorate of Military Counterintelligence of the SBU.

They destroyed the first one in the Belgorod region of Russia.

Also, the Kasta-2E2 radar complex was recently destroyed near the temporarily occupied Ukrainian city of Berdiansk.
