Apple has taken away from the Russians the latest way to pay for applications and subscriptions in the App Store

Billing for Russian users on Google Play was suspended in March.

Russian users began to report the impossibility of connecting MTS and Beeline accounts to the Apple ecosystem. When trying to make a purchase, they are asked to try again later, and when making a payment method – does not send a confirmation code.

A number of specialized Russian media write about it.

It is noted that this was the last way to somehow make payments in the App Store for Russians. Earlier in the “apple” online store disconnected payment from bank cards, from the account of mobile numbers “MegaFon” and Yota, as well as replenishment of Apple ID through QIWI.

In Google Play, billing for users from Russia has been suspended since March 10 – you can download only free programs or update already purchased paid ones. By the way, the day before, Google has already banned Russian developers from updating and downloading paid applications in their marketplace.

Even more restrictions for Russians:

  • Google has banned Russians from installing and updating their proprietary browser from the Google Play store.
  • Russians have been denied access to Times New Roman and Arial fonts. It is noted that they are provided by the state standard of the Russian Federation for documents.
  • Russian companies can no longer produce Android smartphones. Yes, as ridiculous as it may sound, but Russia produces its own smartphones. What is worth the “iPhone killer” AYYA T1.

Also in Russia, the popularity of feature phones – push-button “dialers” with a minimum of functions. Experts attribute this to the decision of the largest smartphone manufacturers to suspend supplies to the aggressor country and significant logistics problems.

We will remind, since February some companies, in particular Apple and Samsung, suspended deliveries of the production to Russia.
