Apple is developing a new type of battery
Today, batteries are already labeled “Designed by Apple,” but the company is going further.
Apple is actively considering increasing the content of silicon inside the battery rather than graphite. Silicon will increase the overall battery capacity and reduce charging time. However, silicon is prone to expansion during charging. Apple has apparently found a way to mitigate this problem.
Thus, the company seeks to either increase the capacity or keep it the same size. Or reduce the size and leave the capacity at the same level.
