Apple patents a way to broadcast a self-driving car trip to a VR headset
Apple has been granted a patent for a new way to use virtual reality (VR) headsets for passengers in self-driving cars, 9to5Mac reports.
With this device, they will be able to see an augmented image of the vehicle and its surroundings, as well as view content on a virtual screen.
According to the company, the VR headset will allow passengers of self-driving cars to have a better travel experience, regardless of whether the vehicle has windows or not.
The headset will display images from the cameras used for navigation and supplement them with virtual objects such as cars, trees, houses, etc.
In addition, the VR headset will allow passengers to save or share their trips in video format. For example, a passenger can record a scenic stretch of road and then view it at any time.
The headset will also allow the user to see what is happening around them, and to attach a window with content, such as a book, movie, or game, next to it.
