Armed Forces receive state-of-the-art German VECTOR drone for UAH 7.1 million (video)

The Armed Forces of Ukraine received a German unmanned aerial vehicle VECTOR. The drone is already defending our country in the Zaporozhye region.

The drone came to Ukraine not at the request of the German government, but thanks to volunteers. VECTOR is superior to other similar models in terms of flight and observation parameters, which are already in service with the Armed Forces and many other countries around the world.

The unmanned aerial vehicle can operate in the most difficult terrain and has a low noise level. The drone is equipped with three rotary rotors mounted on the wings (one each) and on the tail. They are responsible for ensuring vertical takeoff and landing. The rotors are built into the UAV design.

The developer of VECTOR is the German company Quantum Systems. The drone has an electric motor that provides up to three hours of battery life. The drone can carry a payload weighing up to 10% of the weight of the device, which, depending on the modification is 7.5 kg or 6.5 kg.

VECTOR develops speeds of up to 20 m/s (72 km/h). The manufacturer claims that the aircraft is able to withstand winds with a maximum speed of 12 m/s. The wingspan is 2.8 m. The drone can operate at a distance of 20 km from the operator, which allows not to endanger the life of the latter.

The main feature of the drone is the ability to turn it into a tricopter at the user level. The operator needs to remove the wings, as well as replace the brackets and tail. This modification is called Scorpion. It is 1 kg lighter than VECTOR. Flight time is 35 minutes at speeds up to 15 m/s (54 km/h). The drone can fly at a wind speed of 10 m/s.

Quantum Systems donated the drone to the volunteers in advance. The Palyanytsia Foundation agreed on the purchase of an unmanned aerial vehicle. He transferred UAH 2.8 million out of UAH 7.1 million to the German manufacturer. Serhiy Prytula’s fund later added 4.3 million.
