Baykar presents new tactical drones Kalkan Diha (video)
Drone developer Baykar, a Turkish company, has unveiled a new drone, Kalkan Diha. It is designed for infantry to conduct reconnaissance, adjust fire and patrol the area, writes “ArmyInform”.
In its press release, Baykar claims that the drone has powerful capabilities that will help the military.
What is known about the Kalkan Diha drone
The main task of the Kalkan Diha drone is to reconnoiter and assist in adjusting fire for infantry.
The drone is equipped with electric motors that allow for vertical landing and takeoff. In addition, it has another engine – an internal combustion engine.
The drone has a powerful optical system and laser rangefinder that allow it to operate both day and night.
Characteristics of the Kalkan Diha drone
- Speed – up to 120 km/h
- Carrying capacity – 3 kg
- Wingspan – 5 m
- Autonomy – up to 6 hours
- Flight range – 100 km
- Flight altitude – 2.4 km
It is not yet known when this drone will be put into service. The company does not say whether Ukraine will receive it.
