“Broneboynik” missiles started to be mass-produced for use in Ukraine

The Russian concern Tekhmash has begun mass production of the Armor Breaker missile. They will be used in the war against Ukraine.

The “Armor Boy” belongs to a class of unguided missiles with a more powerful warhead. Before exploding, the missile pierces an obstacle. This approach leads to great destruction. Russian propagandists have called the new missile a “high-yield” munition.

The unguided air-to-air missile was developed by the Splav Concern for Mi-8 helicopters and Su-25 attack aircraft. It is equipped with a two-mode detonator. It can be programmed so that the missile explodes after penetrating the target. “The Armor Breaker is the successor to the Soviet S-8 missile. Splav claims that the new missile is 5-6 times more powerful than the S-8. The range of the “Armor Breaker” is 6 km. By this indicator, it surpasses the S-8 three times.
