Burning in the sky: a cargo plane caught fire during takeoff in Russia (video)

A Tu-204 cargo plane caught fire during takeoff in Ulan-Ude, Russia. The aircraft’s left engine caught fire.

This was reported by BAZA.

“The Aerostar cargo plane was supposed to fly from Ulan-Ude to Zhangzhou. However, a few minutes after takeoff, the left engine of the Tu-204 caught fire,” the statement said.

The pilots reported this to the airport, after which they dumped fuel and began landing. All airport services were put on alert.

The plane landed. There were no casualties.
