Canada to provide Ukraine with 50 LAV II ACSV Super Bison armored personnel carriers this summer

According to an announcement by Canadian Defense Minister Bill Blair, reported by the CBC, Canada intends to transfer a new batch of LAV II ACSV Super Bison armored personnel carriers to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The total number of equipment in this batch is 50 units, worth $650 million.

The first 10 armored personnel carriers will be shipped to Ukraine this summer. First, they will arrive in Germany, where the Ukrainian military will undergo a training program, and by the fall the vehicles should be sent to the front.

It should be noted that LAV II ACSV Super Bison armored personnel carriers are already being used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the conflict with the Russian invaders. The first such vehicles were seen at the front in 2023.

The LAV II ACSV Super Bison is a light armored vehicle with a range of 650 km and a top speed of 100 km/h, equipped with 7.62 mm machine guns. These armored personnel carriers are manufactured by General Dynamics Land Systems.
