CIA declassifies video used to recruit Russian officials

More and more Russians are becoming US spies.

The US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is trying to recruit as many Russians as possible. To this end, the US intelligence service published a video specifically for Moscow officials, calling on them to tell the truth about what is happening there.

This was reported by Reuters.

The video appeared on social media in Russian under the title “Why I made contact with the CIA: for my own sake”, showing an alleged Russian official walking through a snowy Russian city. In the video, he says that honesty is rewarded. He also adds that it was dishonest to distort the truth in reports, but many did it to advance their careers.

It is worth noting that a few months ago, CIA Director William Burns said that some Russians’ dissatisfaction with the war in Ukraine was growing and creating a rare opportunity to recruit spies, which the US intelligence service is taking advantage of.

Earlier, the media reported that the CIA had launched a Telegram channel to recruit Russians. US intelligence has published step-by-step instructions for potential informants on how to avoid detection by Russian intelligence services.
