CNN: Russian Federation destroyed hundreds of dummies in Ukraine instead of real equipment (photo)

According to CNN, Ukraine is successfully creating dummies of its military equipment and using them to replace it on the battlefield. Russia has already destroyed hundreds of such decoys.

According to the TV channel, Metinvest, a mining and metallurgical company owned by Ukrainian oligarch Rinat Akhmetov, produces a significant number of copies of military equipment. These replicas are intended to create decoys and replace real military equipment on the battlefield. According to journalists, the models became the target of attacks by the occupiers almost immediately after their deployment. The main goal of this plan is to save the lives of Ukrainian soldiers and force the occupiers to waste their resources.

“War is expensive, and we need the Russians to spend money using drones and missiles to destroy our decoys. After all, drones and missiles are expensive. Our models are much, much cheaper,” said an unnamed company representative.

The price of a real 155mm British-American M777 howitzer is several million dollars, while a copy of this howitzer is made from ordinary sewer pipes for less than a thousand dollars.

The company also said that the dummies were made primarily to make the Ukrainian army look more armed at the front. But as the number of weapons grew, the workers began to improve their models. If a model lasts too long on the battlefield, designers create a new decoy.

“We don’t count the number of models made, but the number of destroyed ones. And this is the main thing for us. The sooner our dummies are destroyed, the better for us,” the company representative emphasized.
