Corsair has released the first mechanical keyboard with hot-swappable switches

The Corsair company has prepared for release a new keyboard called the Corsair K70 Pro Mini Wireless. Its feature is that it is the company’s first mechanical keyboard with hot-swappable switches. If necessary, the user will be able to independently remove and replace the switches. This is done easily with the included tool. At the same time, soldering is not required.

Hot-swappable switches are becoming increasingly popular on enthusiast mechanical keyboards. This option allows you to get a completely different feeling when typing without having to buy a new keyboard. This feature also gives you the chance to try out less common hobbyist switches that are hard to find pre-installed on standard keyboards. The Corsair K70 Pro Mini Wireless keyboard only supports three-pin switches. Therefore, if the owner wishes to install five-pin switches, they will probably have to cut off the extra plastic contacts.

Out of the box, the Corsair K70 Pro Mini Wireless keyboard is available with Cherry MX Red or Cherry MX Speed Silver switches. Both species are linear. This means that there is no noticeable impact when typing. At the same time, Silver switches are designed for gamers and provide faster operation.

The novelty has a compact 60 percent layout, which does not include a set of dedicated arrow keys. It also includes durable PBT keycaps and RGB lighting. The battery life is up to 200 hours with the backlight off and up to 32 hours with the backlight on.

The Corsair K70 Pro Mini Wireless keyboard will retail for $179.99 (£169.99/€189.99).
