Czech air defense systems “Cube” are already in Ukraine (photo)

In early May, Petro Pavel announced the transfer of Soviet air defense systems to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The Czech president promised to supply Ukraine with two batteries of Kub-M2 missile systems. This week, photos of the 2K12M2 Cube-M2 appeared on social media.

Each battery includes a radar for detecting air targets and four launchers. A photo of one of them was posted in X.

It is currently unknown whether the two batteries have been delivered in full or whether the Czech Republic has handed over only part of the machines.

By the way, in early August, a photo of the 2P25 launcher, which is part of the Kub air defense system battery, appeared on social media. The systems and missiles were supplied by Slovakia.

Czech air defense systems “Cube” were developed by engineers of OKB-15. In the USSR, such systems were produced in 1967-1983. The 2K12 “Cube” consists of a self-propelled guidance unit, four control stations and a control room. Each launcher is equipped with three 3M9 missiles. The air defense system is capable of detecting targets at a distance of up to 65 km. Anti-aircraft missiles destroy targets at a distance of up to 23.5 km.
