Destruction of an “invulnerable” complex: photos of the occupiers’ destroyed S-300B appeared

Photos of the destroyed S-300V air defense systems of the Russian occupiers in Zaporizhzhia have been posted online.

The image was published by the telegram channel “War in Ukraine. Loss of equipment”.

As noted, elements of the aggressor country’s air defense systems were destroyed in the temporarily occupied territory in February last year.

Previously, these were the 9A83M2 launcher and the 9A85-2 launcher of the 9K81M2 S-300V4 complex.

The photo shows two cars burning violently and parts of anti-aircraft missile launch containers scattered around.

The exact location of the Russian air defense positions and what caused their destruction is currently unknown.

Presumably, the SAM systems were hit by long-range firepower of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, possibly by a precision strike from M142 HIMARS, which regularly destroys enemy air defense systems.

The S-300V is an anti-aircraft missile system for the Army that began entering service in 1983 under the name S-300V1. All components of the SAM are self-propelled, mounted on tracked chassis.

The system is designed to defend important state, military and industrial facilities, as well as troop groups, against aircraft, ballistic and tactical missiles using two types of anti-aircraft missiles.

As a result of the deep modernization of the S-300V air defense system, the Russian Federation has developed the S-300VM Antey-2500 modification, which is armed with new anti-aircraft guided missiles with an increased range and improved other characteristics.

Last year, Ukrainian Special Forces attack drones neutralized a S-300VM air defense system launcher of the Russian occupiers.

Ukrainian artillery also destroyed elements of the S-300V air defense system in the enemy’s rear in Kherson region.
