Elon Musk made an unexpected visit to China: reasons for the visit

According to Bloomberg, Tesla Inc. CEO Elon Musk has unexpectedly arrived in China for talks on the deployment of self-driving car software. A Gulfstream aircraft registered to SpaceX landed in Beijing on Sunday, April 28, at 14:00 local time.

Tesla is currently working on bringing its latest FSD (Full Self-Driving) autopilot technology to new markets. Previously, Tesla vehicles faced restrictions at military and some government facilities in China due to cybersecurity issues over cameras used in the cars.

Elon Musk said during the company’s call on April 23: “With regulatory approval, we plan to release our system as a controlled autonomous system in any market where we can get permission to do so, which we believe includes China.”
