Entry to the European Union may become a fee due to the new ETIAS permit system

The European Union has announced plans to launch a new ETIAS permit system. Everyone who wants to enter the EU should use it. The entrance itself will be paid.

ETIAS stands for European Travel Information and Authorization System. It should replace the process of obtaining a visa.

The ETIAS application can be submitted online. The decision-making process will take “a few minutes.” At the same time, in some cases, everything can take up to a month.

Residents of the EU bloc are exempted from ETIAS registration. But travelers from those countries for which a visa was not required before are obliged to use the system. This also applies to Ukrainians.

The cost of ETIAS will be 7 euros for one person aged 18 to 70 years. It is possible that individual countries will have their own benefits and relaxations, but there is no exact information about this yet.

The ETIAS system is planned to be launched in May 2023. Before that, they wanted to introduce it in 2022 and 2021. However, it was previously abandoned due to the coronavirus epidemic.
