EUR 7 million project. German Vector drones will be produced in Ukraine
At the beginning of next year, Quantum Systems intends to set up industrial assembly of spare parts for Vector drones in Ukraine. According to Forbes, the German company will launch full-scale UAV production in 2025. EUR 7 million will be invested in the project.
Quantum Systems started working with our country in 2022. In late summer 2022, a German drone manufacturer’s website announced the transfer of 33 UAVs to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. By January this year, the German company managed to supply 105 unmanned systems to Ukraine. As of May, 300 UAVs have been shipped.
Last spring, Quantum Systems’ logistics and service centers were launched in Ukraine. They employ 10 people. Due to the company’s plans to expand its business in Ukraine, the number of employees in the centers will be increased to 40 people.
Vector belongs to the class of VTOL aircraft-type drones. Its battery life is 2 hours. The drone can be used for intelligence gathering, damage assessment, mapping, convoy security, situational awareness, and search. The UAV is equipped with electro-optical and thermal imaging cameras. The range of image transmission to ground control stations can reach 15 km.
