Extreme test: bloggers tested whether Tesla Cybertruck can become a boat in water obstacles (video)

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has previously stated that the new electric pickup truck will be able to overcome water obstacles, and a “modification package” will turn it into a boat. The authors of the YouTube channel TechRax decided to conduct their own tests of the Cybertruck.

The Cybertruck electric pickup’s manual states that it is capable of overcoming fords up to 79 centimeters deep (however, such actions are not covered by the warranty). For fording water obstacles, there is a special “Wade Mode”: it raises the air suspension to its highest position (ground clearance of 406 millimeters) and seals the battery.

The bloggers tested the Tesla Cybertruck on several flooded sections of the highway of varying depths. At first, the pickup forded fords 30-40 centimeters deep, and then managed to overcome a deeper obstacle – the water reached the windshield.

However, it was not without its problems. Two plastic parts of the body were detached, although the blogger reported that he had put them back in, and a few hours later the button for the electric tailgate stopped working (but it still opened from the phone).
