Eyewitnesses told how 15 Ukrainian tanks rapidly occupied Balaklia and the surrounding villages

The Ukrainian special forces used the tactics of a rapid assault

The town of Balaklia, which had a population of 27,000 before the war, was taken by a column of Ukrainian vehicles consisting of 15 tanks, the Russian Telegram channel ‘Two Majors’ reported with reference to eyewitnesses, citing the Conflict Intelligence Team (CIT) and Bloomberg.

The Russian Guard soldiers who left the city had no contact with aviation or artillery, which made the retreat of the Russian forces inevitable.

According to the ‘Dva Majora’ channel, the offensive of Ukrainian forces began on Tuesday. A convoy of Ukrainian equipment consisting of 15 tanks took six villages on the first day, and one more on Wednesday. The Ukrainian military quickly entered the center of the settlement, suppressed the firing points and occupied the village.

The Ukrainian special forces used the tactics of a rapid assault, writes the Conflict Intelligence Team (CIT). It was she who ensured a quick breakthrough during the sudden offensive of Ukrainian forces in the Kharkiv region.

Before the start of the offensive of the Ukrainian armed forces, there were neither Russian soldiers nor ‘mobs’ from the ‘DNR-LNR’ in Balaklia – the city was controlled by two companies of the Russian Guard, ‘Two Majors’ write.

According to the representative of the so-called ‘DNR’ of Yan Gagin, during the assault, only SOBR fighters were in the city and there were fewer of them than a company. Due to the fact that there are many Ukrainian air defense systems in the area, the Russian aviation could not help the Guardsmen in time.

The authors of the channel claimed that the Russian aircraft began striking Ukrainian forces only late on Wednesday evening. Rosguard fighters also did not receive artillery support, as they did not establish interaction with it.

It is noted that the success of the Ukrainian army was facilitated by the transfer of Russian troops from the north of Ukraine to the south, where Kyiv launched a counteroffensive.

According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), at the end of August, Russia transferred the 147th Artillery Regiment, the 2nd Motorized Rifle Division and the 1st Guards Tank Army to the Kherson Region. Before that, these units were stationed in the Kharkiv direction.

The next successful target of the Armed Forces was Kupyansk, through which Russia provides its forces in Izyum. We are waiting for official confirmation of this information.
