Fantastic starship: what the most original pizza delivery car looks like (photos)

The Tritan A2 Aero Car attracts with its futuristic design and innovative aerodynamics. The pizza delivery car is equipped with a rotary piston engine.

A unique Tritan A2 Aero Car is discovered in the United States. This is the only car in the world designed specifically for pizza delivery. This was reported by Focus.

The Tritan A2 Aero Car was created in 1985 in the United States specifically for the Domino’s pizza chain. In total, only 10 of these vehicles were produced, and they were used to deliver pizza in Ann Arbor, Michigan, for several years.

The futuristic Tritan A2 Aero Car was developed by designers James and Douglas Amickey. It is based on the 1969 Windmobile concept car.

The pizza delivery car looks like a starship from the sci-fi movies of the 70s and 80s. It has a streamlined silhouette with an elongated nose and a huge rear wing.

Instead of a door, there is a sliding canopy, as in airplanes. There is one seat in the cabin, and behind it there is a special compartment for pizza with thermal insulation.

The Tritan A2 Aero Car not only looks fast, but also has record-breaking aerodynamics – its drag coefficient is only 0.15. For comparison, the current Tesla Model S has a 0.21.

The engine of the Tritan A2 Aero Car is also non-standard – it is a 440 cubic cm rotary piston Wankel engine (like Mazda’s) from Rotax. It develops only 30 hp, but thanks to its advanced aerodynamics, the car can reach 153 km/h and consumes only 2.9 liters/100 km.

Domino’s cars undoubtedly attracted everyone’s attention, but they did not become popular due to their impracticality. Embarkation and disembarkation were difficult, and visibility was poor. In addition, the operation was complicated due to too low ground clearance. Tritan delivered pizza for several years, and then they were written off.

The found Tritan A2 Aero Car will be put up for auction. It can fetch about 40-50 thousand dollars.
