Files started disappearing from Google Drive – Google has not yet fixed the problem
Google Drive users are facing a new problem. It consists in the disappearance of files stored in the cloud.
Several users have contacted Google’s tech support, reporting that files from Google Drive have disappeared. One of them said that all files uploaded after May 2023 had disappeared from the storage. They are not in folders or in the trash.
It’s worth noting that the folder structure has been restored to the May 2023 state. At the same time, the user claims that he did not share access to Google Drive with other people.
Google has not yet fixed the problem. Until the cause is found, the company’s technical support recommends that users do not make any changes to Google Drive in an attempt to recover files on their own.
