Finland obliges owners to take cars with Russian license plates out of the country by March 16

Finland says cars with Russian license plates must leave the country by next Saturday, March 16

This was reported by Yle.

It is noted that the ban on entry to Finland for cars with Russian license plates came into effect in the fall of 2023. However, car owners who were in the country at the time were given until March 16, 2024, to take their vehicles out of the country.

The Finnish Customs Service said that they could not say what would happen to the Russian cars after that date. They will find out why the car is still in Finland and how long it has been here. A more detailed action plan is still under development.

Earlier it became known that Lithuania would start confiscating cars with Russian license plates on March 11. In this way, the country meets EU requirements for importing and exporting goods from Russia.
