First group of Ukrainian pilots completes F-16 training in the United States
The first group of Ukrainian pilots graduated from training on F-16 fighter jets at a military base in Arizona. This was reported by Arizona Air National Guard spokeswoman Erin Hannigan, Politico reports.
Ukrainian pilots were trained at the 162nd Air National Guard Base in Tucson. The exact number of course graduates has not been announced due to security measures.
After completing their training in the United States, the pilots of the Ukrainian Air Force head to Europe for additional training.
At present, Ukrainian military pilots and technicians are being trained in the United States, Britain, France, Denmark, and Romania. It is expected that Ukraine will receive the first six F-16 fighters and 12 trained pilots in the summer of 2024. In total, Ukraine is to receive more than 60 F-16s from Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
