First Ukrainian tactical aviation brigade receives F-16 fighter jet simulator (video)
Mykola Oleshchuk, commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, said that one of the tactical aviation brigades received its first F-16 simulator. At the moment, Ukrainian specialists are testing this model and preparing it for operation. The main module of the system has already been installed and is available for pilots to study, and soon the cockpit and hydraulics will be added to fully recreate the conditions of real flight.
The simulator provides a flight simulation in the cockpit, demonstrating all instrument displays and the process of launching weapons. The pilots will be able to train for tactical missions, including target search and capture, as well as practice missile launches in conditions as close to real-life as possible. In Ukraine, basic simulators were used before, but now there is a growing need for more full-fledged simulators.
Mykola Oleshchuk expressed gratitude to international allies for their support in strengthening the Ukrainian Air Force and called for further cooperation in creating a training material base, which is critical not only for the transfer of fighter jets, but also for the training of qualified pilots.
