Footage of HIMARS destruction of Russian Zala drone operators’ transport was shown by Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance

Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance recorded the moment of destruction of the occupiers’ vehicle with a trailer, which was probably used by Zala drone operators. The vehicle was struck by a rocket launcher from the M142 HIMARS system.

A user with the nickname externalPilot, who is a member of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, posted the video on X (formerly Twitter). The video shows the moment of destruction of the Russian occupiers’ vehicle along with a trailer that may have been used for Zala drones. The attack was carried out with a GMLRS missile, and the recording shows a car hidden in a forest plantation, which is accurately hit by the missile.

Most likely, a Leleka-100 reconnaissance drone was used to shoot the video.

Hypotheses are circulating online that the destroyed vehicle could have been equipped with a launch system for Lancet kamikaze drones. These drones are used by the occupiers and cause problems for the Ukrainian Defense Forces on the front lines and in their vicinity, but there is no evidence of this.

“I don’t know what kind of vehicle it was, but the crew of Zala-421 was traveling on it. It is no longer moving,” the soldier wrote.

Zala-421 is a compact wing-type reconnaissance drone.
